Hi, my name is Rachel Popham and I graduated from Ball State University. My degree is in Special Education for Intense Interventions K-12 and Mild Interventions K-6. I am from Evansville, Indiana where education has always been apart of my life. My mother was a middle school teacher then became a vice principal of Reitz Memorial High School. Therefore, I have always wanted to become a teacher when I grew up. It was later in life when I discovered the Special Education was the right career path for me.
For three summers, I had an opportunity to work at an Autism Day Camp. At this camp, I work with children with autism. Over the summer, we worked on their challenging behaviors by replacing them with appropriate replacement behaviors. This camp was based on an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program.
I am so excited to be teaching at Fitzhugh Lee!
